On Friday 13 July, over 40,000 people watched the Flame as it was carried through towns and villages in Purbeck, exceeding all expectations and providing a rapturous welcome.
The Flame started its journey in Winfrith where it was met by crowds of people, before it continued its visit to Purbeck, stopping at Durdle Door for a photocall.
Another amazing welcome was waiting in Wareham, with 8,000 people enjoying the atmosphere and cheering as the Torchbearers came through.
Next stop was Sandford, where 2,000 people gathered to share the moment.
Just under 5,000 locals were waiting in Lytchett Minster. In Upton, the final part of the Purbeck journey, 7,800 people cheered and waved.
Michael Tomlinson was in Upton and commented: "It was excellent to see the community come together and witness the torch pass by in Upton. There was even a rare glimmer of sunshine during the afternoon!"
