Prospective MP Michael Tomlinson has today welcomed new statistics that show the number of people in work in the South West has increased by 14,000 this quarter, and up by 55,000 since the election.
Michael Tomlinson said:
“I regularly visit local business across Dorset and Poole. It is great news that there are 55,000 more people in work in the South West since 2010. That’s 55,000 more people getting a regular pay packet, giving them the chance to give themselves and their family a more secure future.
“Of course there is still more to do, but these figures show that the Conservative’s long-term plan to fix the economy is working in the South West getting people off benefits and into work, and delivering a more secure future for people who want to work hard and get on in life.”
