The Conservatives secured a by-election victory in Redhill & Northbourne in the constituency of Bournemouth West.
Against a difficuly national picture, it was pleasing to see a convincing win for the Conservative Party. Mid Dorset and North Poole Conservatives had provided much support to the Conservative Candidate David D'Orton Gibson. David wrote to Mid Dorset Chairman Michael Tomlinson, "If this by election proves one thing, it is that against the national trend we can achieve a lot if we work together." He also passed on his personal thanks to Michael and the team at Mid Dorset.
